Curbside service will commence on 14 May 2020, between the hours of 0900 – 1500, Monday – Friday.
Interested Library members can call 257-3539, to request checkout of Library materials.
Member must have an active Library Account to which checkouts will be charged against.
Library staff will check database when members calls to ensure account exists and is current. Expired accounts can be updated when member arrives at 328; this will entail viewing member’s CAC or ID.
CAC or ID required for all checkouts. Checkouts will be restricted to any combination of 7 items per Account; such may include DVDs, Audiobooks, and Books.
Respectfully request member to research their book or DVD needs at http://www.moodyafblibrary.com, Library Catalog. This will insure items are available before calling the library at 257-3539 with their list. Information we will need are: Title, author and call number.
All physical transactions with the member will be conducted in the large parking lot in front the Information Learning Center, building 328. Appropriate face masks by Library Staff and member is required. Library staff will check member’s CAC or ID to insure it correlates with the member’s account.
No customer/patrons will be allowed access to the ILC Library without an appointment. Appointment is not for searching shelves for items to checkout.
For non-members, an electronic version of a membership application form is being created. Once completed it will be accessible at the URL above. Customer will be able to send the completed application through the Library’s email address. The application will remain inactive until such times as the member schedules appointment with the Library to complete the application by showing their CAC or ID and signing the application. Once confirmed, the Library will activate the account. All accounts are good for one year. This service will be reserved to only active duty, retired, and civilian employees at Moody AFB.
Curbside service is limited to 20 vehicles/day. This number may eventually increase base on demand and how well the process works.
All returned items will be dropped off at the book drop adjacent to the big parking lot in front of 328.
See 13, 14, and 15 below on sanitation/disinfecting procedures.
All returned books will go through a sanitation cycle which includes disinfecting the plastic dustcover protector on exterior of books; pages will not be disinfected. Books must wait 24 hours after receipt before they can be checked out again.
All returned DVDs, music CDs and audiobooks will go through a sanitation cycle which includes disinfecting the plastic cover; DVD and CD discs will not be disinfected. DVDs, CDs, and audiobooks must wait 72 hours after receipt before they can be checked out again.
Sanitation and disinfecting procedures will be conducted in the Library’s Quiet Study Room. Only Library Staff will have access to this area.
